Boot is able to explain his political views by establishing strong uses of diction to explain his point of view clearly. Words and phrases that are incorporated within his peice such as, “by the far left as a bloodthirsty neocon warmonger for the Original Sin” and, “I am a ‘soulless, craven opportunist’ whose ‘brain is broken’”.The emotional attachment that the author portrays is large considering he refers to himself and what he's been through regarding his change of mind. For example he writes, “ ‘In the past I would have been indignant at such attacks and eager to assert my conservative credentials...But now, frankly, I don’t give a damn. I prefer to think of myself as a classical liberal, because ‘conservative’ has become practically synonymous with ‘Trump lackey’ ”. The author is able to show much passion in his argument by the amount of news he is able to emphasize and explain his reasoning in the passage to his recent change of beliefs.The words used and the phrases that he puts down explains his tone as being very critical and contemplative toward the conservative views also known as the major political party called the Republican Party.
